Group of Four Blotter Ends

Group of Four Blotter Ends

Made in New York, sometime between 1905 and 1920

ORIGINAL COLLECTION OF DR. EGON NEUSTADT

The Blotter Ends show the same form in four different patterns: Zodiac, Bookmark, Chinese, and American Indian. The pattern names and choice of decorative motifs are based upon historical and cultural references and reflect the diverse inspirations that typified turn-of-the-century design. The numerous options were further expanded by the variety of surface embellishments including polychrome enamels (Zodiac), gilding (Bookmark and Chinese), or a bronze patina (American Indian).
