Hollyhock Hanging Shade
ca. 1905
Tiffany’s glass selectors carefully chose glass that depicted the colors of flowers and leaves as they appear in nature. In this example, the white petals of the hollyhock darken to a deep pink at the flower’s center. The milky translucency of the glass mimics the play of sunlight through the papery petals of the hollyhock blossoms.
