Lotus Pagoda Library Lamp
ca. 1905
ORIGINAL COLLECTION
This lamp is a Tiffany shade on a Rookwood base. Rookwood was a renowned art pottery company in Cincinnati, Ohio. Although Rookwood did provide lamp bases for Tiffany Studios, this pairing was made by Dr. Neustadt. The combination is particularly pleasing in proportion, color, and motif. The chrysanthemum decoration and pagoda-shaped shade are inspired by Asian art and architecture.
